WHAT IS IT
Studies show that exposure to the arts produces better outcomes for students – better performance in schools, higher rates of college acceptance and greater success in future careers. Our goal is to offer opportunities that will promote student achievement and better the lives of people within our community.
The Art After School Series is a 8 week income based arts education program catering to youth in grades 2-8 who have an interest in art. This program offers an introduction and exploration of the following visual art mediums:
- Drawing & Sketching
- Color Theory
- Watercolor Painting
- Acrylic Painting
- Clay Making
- Mixed Media
Students will learn about each medium from professional teaching artists and will build on past projects adding techniques to their skill set. The final week will end in a gallery exhibit of the students work that is open for friends and family to attend. All students leave the program with art supplies to take home and continue practicing.
