We believe that art can be more than just an outlet for creativity. Our Makers Program provides opportunities for students to explore the world of makers and how artisans can create and sell their products. From exploring different creative methods to learning about branding and business this program aims to empower students to consider creativity as a career.

Screen Printing Makers Series is a free, income-based program offered to students in grades 4-12. Students will learn to develop their personal artistic style, learn how to create their own screens for printing, and customize a variety of paper and fabric items using screen printing methods. This 5-week series will teach the basics of running a handmade business including how to brand, describe, and price your products as a maker. Participants will be selected based on their interest in screen printing and their annual household income level or demonstrated need to attend.

Program runs June 17th - July 22nd, 2020

Class is held every Wednesday from 1-2:30 pm at Creative Plans Foundation (no class July 1st).

Applications are DUE June 9th

Our Maker’s Program explores entrepreneurial opportunities within a range of creative mediums to inspire students to see the economic power of creativity. During each series we investigate tools and techniques such as screen printing, illustration, or jewelry design that can be used to design and create products while also learning about branding, pricing, and marketing as a maker.
