Using a variety of hand-building techniques students will slab, coil, roll, texturize, and assemble their own colorful garden gnomes
This project involves creating various 3-dimensional shapes (cylinders, cones, balls, etc.) and combining them to create small gnome sculptures. Each gnome will be the unique interpretation of basic elements like body, head, hat, and beard.
Sculptors create 3D works of art from tiny miniatures to massive public works. Working in three dimensions encourages spatial awareness and critical thinking.
