Students will create unique designs on canvas pencil pouches using acrylic paint and q-tips in a style inspired by Pointillism. Pointillism is a technique of painting in which small, distinct dots of color are applied in patterns to form an image.
This project explores primary colors and the scientific phenomenon of how the human eye blends color. Tiny dots of paint placed side by side allow the viewer’s eye to blend the color optically instead of having the paint itself and then applied to canvas.
Textile designers create beautiful patterns on fabrics to be used in products such as backpacks, tote bags, purses, decor fabric and more.
