Students will draw inspiration from adventure-themed reference images to select design elements to create their own pattern. Their chosen icons will be repeated and drawn onto a printmaking plate which will then be used to customize the cover of their own adventure journal.
This project helps students understand the concept of positive and negative space as their print will reveal the opposite of what they draw on their scratch foam plate. Students will be able to choose icons and design elements that express their individuality and their idea of summer.
Graphic Designers create designs that can be used to decorate anything from event posters to the sides of vehicles. Graphic Designers take design elements and arrange them in ways that are both beautiful and meaningful.
